| Welcome to Ken Smith
Ministries! |
We are excited to say that the ministry is alive
and well. We have repositioned what we are doing a little in these ways. I am
now pastor of FBC in Wauchula FL. In many ways I am attempting to do some
things that I have preached as an itinerant for years. Issues like authenticity
of faith, spiritual Formation and ministry are not just theories, I am trying
to figure out how to implement them in a traditional church . I am committed to
marketplace evangelism and I am working on making that a reality in the area
where I pastor. I have a wonderful congregation and great leadership and I am
intrigued with there response. Watch us as we attempt to do this. I am starting
with a church council evaluation and a study of how we approach Spiritual
formation.
Ken Smith Ministries is
working hard on continuing the basis of our ministry. Though not traveling
except on a limited basis we will continue to encourage pastors and churches
and coaches.. the schedule for our ministry trips are below. We have no dates
left this year for multiple day events but will do some one day stuff in the
fall in addition to the listed below...
Please pray for us and continue to be our
support in the days |

"No matter how
much I travel.... He goes ahead of me to prepare the
way."
ahead. We will appreciate that...
A Welcome
Letter From
Ken
Thanks for coming by the website for Ken Smith
Ministries. I am so appreciative that you have come
I hope you find what
you are looking for as you spend some time here.
Ken Smith Ministries is almost 20 years young.
We started after about 22 years as a teacher, coach and pastor. I finished my
last pastorate at the First Baptist Church at Pompano Beach. I served at
Covenant Baptist in Gainesville, Fellowship Baptist in Tallahassee, First
Baptist of South Miami and Killarney Baptist in Winter Park but really started
after Seminary as a youth minister before going to MSU to do counseling work
and there served as pastor of Arbor Grove Baptist Church which I still call the
"best days of my ministry
" I will be buried there so you will see it if
you come to the funeral.
I started this ministry as a result of my belief
that the church has to escape the fortress of the church and connect with the
world. Findley Edge pushed me all of my days to find "authentic Christianity";
I call it one that is vital and speaks to those outside the walls of the
church. I love the ministry I have with FCA and the marketplace stuff I do as
well. I think the church has to reassess it strategy in two places. The first
is in the whole area of Spiritual Formation must be addressed because we have
done a very poor job teaching Regenerative living. We are trying to business of
a spiritual nature with a lot of folks who became members of a church because
they said yes to questions or laws but did not have a conversion experience
that grew out of a repentant heart and thus were made new creatures who were in
process. (Phil 1:6) Growth is not taking place in many lives and the call to
Sanctification is weak at best. The second area has to do with reaching the
"lost" those outside the faith. We do not even speak a language that they
understand and often never connect or interact with them at all. The fortress
mentality continues to dominate Christian thinking.
My ministry is designed to challenge and educate
in both areas. I love the fact that I still preach in all kinds of churches and
settings and would love to come and be at your place. We are booking 2008 now
and will soon be full. Call or write quickly and let's see what God can do when
we show up seeking Him and teaching His word.
On the site you can find biographical stuff, you
can find pictures, quotes and resources. You can see my schedule and read the
coaches corner
I hope you will also sign the guest book
thanks for

Come by often and read the "almost
daily diary" and become a prayer partner with us as well.
I pray that this new year will be a time of
great growing in all of our lives. It is a time like Dickens wrote, "... the
best of times and the worst of times!" We as a body of believers face a
tremendous task to impact our world. We are the folks that he called to do
that... "the bride of Christ" is the description of the church often used;
however the church must react to what is going on quickly or we will have
serious problems being what we are called to be...
I plan to write another book this year and take
a serious look at the call on the church and our ability to respond... pray for
us...
"Create in me a
clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Do not banish me from your
presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me again the joy
of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
" Psalm 51:10-12

| 2008... the 9th Annual Ken
Smith Ministry Minister's Conference Was Fantastic |
We gathered again at the
fabulous Whitestone Inn for times of worship- in the
beautiful chapel on the hill, and refreshment. A 5 star resort we recommend for
you and your spouse. Featuring gourmet meals. A great time to sit back and
connect with your spouse and refresh your fellowship with the one who created
this great vista.
